Willy Jurtin is born in Weißkirchen in Styria in 1949. He trains as a saddler and upholsterer. After completing his final examination he dedicates himself totally to music as a career though.
At the start of the 1970s, he takes a job as a shoe salesman in Graz, two years later he becomes the branch manager. During this time, he doesn’t just learn everything about how shoes are produced but is mainly confronted with his customers’ foot problems. In 1987 he opens a health care supply store in Feldkirchen/Carinthia together with his wife Uschi.
In 1990 he completes his master examination as a truss maker and orthopaedic technician. A second health care supply store follows in Villach. Since then, Willy Jurtin has been committed to developing insoles that actually have a positive and long-lasting effect.
The Jurtin principle with corresponding made-to-measure insoles is internationally well-known in the mean time.
